The Illinois election is November 6, 2018 with the municipal election coming in February 26, 2019.
If you are interested in being a judge of the election in the 32nd Ward (map) there are always judges needed for polling locations. As a judge you do not need to declare your party, or can serve as a Democratic or Republican judge of the election.
You can earn about $190 for the day by assisting at a polling location throughout the entire day. To be a judge you need to call the Judges Dept at the Chicago Board of Elections at 312-269-7984 and ask for Julie, or fill out this form and get it back to us quickly.
Judges salary – $190 for judges who serve all of Election Day and who have completed training.
Extra compensation is also paid to judges who:
- Pick up the Election Judge key envelope the week before Election Day;
- Allow the use of the judge’s cell phone (by all judges within the polling place) on Election Day;
- Return the election materials to a receiving station on election night (to be determined by all judges on Election Day.)
- Serve additional days in Vote By Mail ballot processing, nursing-home voting or in post-election counting activities in the warehouse.
Due to the possible closure of some buildings for renovation and change of business, we may be changing some voting facility locations, so please check your polling location before you go!
